Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will hold a Journeyman Machinist ticket, operate CNC machinery, interpret technical drawings, and produce precision components in a fast-paced environment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with CNC programming, and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Machinist will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and accuracy of manufactured parts, supporting our commitment to excellence and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual lathes, milling machines, boring mill and other machining equipment .
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings.
- Program CNC machines to produce parts within specified tolerances using CNC programming skills.
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers to ensure parts meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machining equipment and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Select appropriate hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for fabrication tasks.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety protocols, including forklift operation when necessary.
- Collaborate with team members to improve machining processes and product quality.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Machinist or in a similar manufacturing role with mechanical knowledge of machining processes.
- Proficiency in CNC programming, with experience operating CNC lathe and milling machines.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and blueprint interpretation skills.
- Ability to use calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools accurately.
- Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, welding techniques, and assembly procedures.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus but not required; training can be provided if needed.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining safety standards.
