Job Description:
We are currently looking for a CNC Lathe Operator/Programmer to join our manufacturing team, The ideal candidate must be able to perform the following:
- Set up and operate CNC and Manual lathes to produce plastic and elastomeric parts used in the hydraulic/pneumatic sealing industry.
- Perform machining operations such as turning, sawing, drilling and deburring.
- Fit and assemble machined parts and subassemblies ensuring quality in the finished assembly.
- Quality inspections utilizing various measurement tools and metrology techniques.
- Responsible for producing a variety of different seal geometries on demand.
- Label, identify and prepare various types of material for machining.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment, reporting any concerns that will affect production.
- Use of overhead crane or lift to assist in positioning and moving of heavy or large components.
- Follow established safety practices and verify all tooling and setup requirements are satisfied before running a job.
General Qualifications:
- Previous experience in machine operating an asset (Minimum 2 years)
- Experience in machining elastomers and plastics an asset.
- Ability to machine parts independently using a manual lathe an asset.
- Experience in working with CAD/CAM an asset.
- Ability to read, understand and modify or edit CNC programs an asset.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Basic knowledge of measuring equipment.
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficient with using a computer or laptop.
- Knowledge of GD&T and in-process inspections.
- Ability to work within tight deadlines and under pressure.
- Motivated and willing to learn new skills.
Training:
Training on equipment and software that the candidate is expected to work on will be provided.
