Rising Above has supported individuals who are struggling in a cycle of defeat which has primarily included addiction, homelessness, and incarceration through the 6-month residential treatment program based on the H.E.L.P.S. model.

Position Summary
The Reception & Front Desk Administrator serves as the first point of contact for participants, families, donors, volunteers, churches, and community partners. Reporting to the appropriate supervisor, this role provides administrative support, coordinates front desk operations, and helps create a welcoming, safe, and professional environment. Through Christlike hospitality, effective communication, and administrative excellence, this position contributes to the mission of Rising Above by ensuring every individual experiences dignity, respect, and care from their first interaction with the ministry.
Key Responsibilities
Reception & Front Desk
- Warmly greet visitors, participants, volunteers, and staff in a Christlike manner.
- Answer phones, respond to inquiries, direct calls/emails, and manage visitor sign-in.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front desk area and uphold safety protocols.
- Updated communication for security.
Administrative Support
- Perform filing, scanning, photocopying, mail handling, and accurate data entry.
- Schedule appointments and room bookings using Jane App (required).
- Prepare documents, forms, correspondence, and meeting minutes.
- Maintain office supply inventory and organize record-keeping systems.
Communication & Coordination
- Relay accurate information between staff, volunteers, and participants.
- Draft simple notices or internal communications.
- Update calendars, schedules, and digital tools; assist in coordinating volunteers or practicum students.
Program & Participant Support
- Provide basic program information and direct participants to the appropriate staff.
- Support Case Managers, Program Leads, and Inner Healing staff with administrative needs.
- Interact with participants using sensitivity and trauma-informed awareness.
- Provide compassionate and respectful support to participants and their families as they navigate programme inquiries, appointments, and ministry services.
Compliance & Ministry Culture
- Follow confidentiality, safeguarding, privacy, and organisational policies while maintaining accurate and secure records.
- Support a Christ-centred environment by demonstrating professionalism, compassion, respect, and servant-hearted care in all interactions.
- Participate in staff meetings, prayer times, devotionals, ministry events, and organisational initiatives while representing Rising Above positively within the workplace and community.
- Demonstrates personal integrity, emotional maturity, and a commitment to supporting the mission, values, and Christ-centred culture of Rising Above.
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; office administration training an asset.
- 1–2 years' reception, administrative, or customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and office equipment.
- Jane App scheduling experience is essential.
- Highly organized, dependable, able to multitask, and maintain confidentiality.
- Alignment with Rising Above’s Christian mission and values.
Preferred Assets
- Experience in nonprofit, church, Christian ministry, community service, or clinical settings.
- Trauma-informed practice knowledge and experience supporting vulnerable populations.
Working Conditions
- On-site, front-facing role with regular interaction with participants and visitors.
- Occasional evening or weekend hours for events or coverage.
- Participation in ministry rhythms (prayer, devotions, team building) is expected
