Our team at Carleton Place Pharmacy is looking for a part-time pharmacist to start at the end of summer 2026.
Being situated in the Carleton Place Health Hub, we work closely with a variety of healthcare professionals. We complement their services by providing patients with timely access to medication and health aids in order to improve their quality of life and all round wellbeing.
A new staff pharmacist will be an integral part of our team. We are in search of someone who is outgoing, compassionate, and proactive in helping our team best serve the medication needs of the Carleton Place and surrounding communities.
Responsibilities of a successful candidate will include:
- Accurately and timely dispense all prescriptions.
- Be capable and knowledgeable of submitting claims to ODB and other third party insurances through Kroll (paperless).
- Perform patient focused services which improve patient wellbeing and increase their knowledge of their medications and health conditions
- Provide professional advice and applicable dialogue with patients on prescription and OTC products to provide excellent customer service and maximize customer loyalty.
- Be comfortable in administering vaccines, conducting medication checks, assessing for minor ailments and practicing to full scope of practice as defined by OCP.
- Responsible for partaking in and supervising ordering medications and health aids from various vendors
- Maintaining the dispensary inventory levels within reasonable bounds based on medication use patterns.
- Being a team player who is able to lead and boost team productivity and morale.
Qualifications:
- Registered Pharmacist in the province of Ontario, in good standing with OCP
- Injection certified
- First aid training up to date
- Good multitasker with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy is a must
- Proficiency in Kroll software highly valuable
Language requirements:
- Ability to proficient communicate in English is a must
- French not required but always a plus
- Other languages welcome
Job Types: Part-time
Hours expected to work per week: 8.5-17
Pay: $55 per hour
