Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Orthodontic Level II Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. This role is vital in providing exceptional patient care, supporting orthodontic procedures, and ensuring smooth clinic operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with dental assisting, orthodontics is an asset, and proficiency in dental software systems such Orthotrac. A background in pediatrics and knowledge of medical terminology are considered advantageous. Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists and dental hygienists during various procedures
- Turn over and set up of treatment rooms
- Sterilization of instruments, ordering and stocking supplies
- Take intraoral photos, digital panorex and cephalometric radiographs and iTero scans
- Manage patient records accurately within Orthotrac, including updating treatment notes and providing updates to parents/guardians
- Provide patient education on orthodontic care, oral hygiene practices, and post-treatment instructions
- Support front desk duties as needed, including greeting patients and managing patient flow
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control standards
- Maintain a clean, organized work environment to promote efficiency and safety
Experience
- Prior experience as a Level II Dental Assistant with a focus on Orthodontics is preferred
- Proficiency in dental software such as Orthotrac is highly desirable
- Knowledge of orthodontic procedures, appliances and technology is beneficial
- Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
- Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to dental care
- Certification in Level II Dental Assisting and CPR certified
