Restaurant Server

Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and customer-focused Server to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional service, ensure guests have an enjoyable dining experience, and work efficiently in a fast-paced Indian restaurant. Knowledge of Indian cuisine is an asset but not required—we will provide training.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests and provide friendly, professional service.
- Present menus and explain Indian dishes, spice levels, and daily specials.
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using the POS system.
- Suggest menu items, appetizers, desserts, and beverages to increase sales.
- Serve food and drinks promptly and accurately.
- Check on guests throughout their meal and address any concerns professionally.
- Process cash, debit, and credit card payments accurately.
- Set up and clean dining tables before and after service.
- Refill beverages and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Assist with takeout and online delivery orders when required.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, server stations, and washrooms.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate orders.
- Complete opening and closing side duties.
Qualifications
- Previous serving experience is an asset but not required.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and multitasking abilities.
- Positive attitude and professional appearance.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of Indian cuisine is an asset.
- Smart Serve Certification is required if serving alcoholic beverages in Ontario.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry trays up to 20 kg (45 lbs).
- Ability to bend, reach, and move quickly during busy service.
