Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Delivery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining excellent customer service. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with opportunities to operate heavy equipment and utilize specialized skills such as forklift operation and automotive repair.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, including trucks and vans, to transport freight and goods to designated locations.
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure accurate delivery of freight while maintaining proper documentation and delivery records.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic maintenance or automotive repairs when necessary.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules or issues.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations during transportation activities.
- Assist in warehouse or storage operations as required, including handling freight with care.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record suitable for commercial driving.
- Experience operating forklifts, heavy equipment, or commercial vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety standards.
- Ability to operate basic automotive repair tools and perform minor vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for accurate deliveries and documentation.
- Ability to lift heavy loads and work in physically demanding environments.
- Prior experience in freight transportation or logistics is a plus.
- Must pass background checks and adhere to company safety policies.
