The Opportunity
We are seeking reliable, experienced, and compassionate Health Care Aides to join the GHC family. If you have experience providing personal care and supporting individuals living with dementia and memory loss, and you genuinely enjoy making a difference in people's lives, this role may be a great fit for you.
Key Responsibilities
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Providing dementia and memory care support (required)
- Supporting clients with personal care needs
- Light housekeeping and meal preparation
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities and conversation
- Providing companionship and emotional support
- Monitoring client well-being and reporting changes as required
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation

- Has previous caregiving experience, particularly in dementia care
- Follows all GHC policies, procedures, and safety protocols
- Builds strong relationships with clients, families, and team members
- Communicates effectively and maintains thorough reporting with GHC management
- Demonstrates a client-centred approach in all aspects of care
Requirements
- Health Care Aide Certification in Alberta (required)
- Registration with the CLHA (College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta and Health Care Aides) (required)
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Search (issued within the last three months)
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid driver's license and reliable access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience supporting individuals living with dementia (required)
- Experience with senior caregiving (required)
