Cliffs Edge Retreat is looking for passionate and knowledgeable Performing Servers, Shift Leaders, and Bartenders to join our team at The Forager Restaurant, where Newfoundland’s foraging culture and locally sourced ingredients take center stage. If you love sharing the story of Newfoundland’s culinary heritage with guests and providing warm, attentive service, we’d love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
- Provide exceptional service during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
- Take and deliver accurate food and beverage orders while sharing insights about foraged ingredients.
- Offer menu recommendations, including wine and cocktail pairings.
- Create a welcoming and engaging dining experience by showcasing Newfoundland’s foraging culture.
- Maintain a clean and organized dining area while working efficiently with the team.
- Process payments quickly and accurately.
- For Bartenders: Prepare and serve classic and creative cocktails, wines, and other beverages with precision and flair; maintain bar cleanliness, inventory, and standards.
- For Shift Leaders: Support floor operations, guide and support team members during shifts, help coordinate service flow, and step in to resolve guest or operational needs as required.
- For Performing Servers: Deliver elevated, polished service with strong menu knowledge, confident recommendations, and a focus on creating memorable, high-touch guest experiences.
Qualifications:
- Previous serving, bartending, or restaurant leadership experience preferred (relevant experience for the specific role will be considered).
- Passion for Newfoundland’s foraging culture and locally inspired cuisine.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Smart Serve or Responsible Beverage Service certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Leadership experience or demonstrated ability to support and guide a team (preferred for Shift Leader applicants).
