The Edge Benefits Marketing Department is looking for an Intermediate Business Analyst & QA Tester on a 24-month contract basis. This role is multi-faceted, bridging marketing strategy, technical innovation and quality assurance. The position is responsible for documenting business requirements, submitting and testing development tasks, troubleshooting bugs and user inquiries, and ensuring the quality and reliability of marketing platforms, campaigns, and digital experiences. The role works closely with Marketing peers, cross-functional subject matter experts, and external vendors to make data-driven decisions, identify and capitalize on new opportunities, optimize performance, improve customer experiences, and reduce risk through rigorous testing and ongoing analysis. Our head office is in Newmarket, Ontario; however, this is a fully remote opportunity with occasional travel to Head Office for employees located within a reasonable driving distance.
Specific Duties
Marketing Business Analysis
- Understand and document current business processes and requirements
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather, document, and validate business expectations and functional requirements
- Translate business needs into data requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Participate in the design, development, testing and implementation of systems and automated processes
- Develop and support dashboards, reports, marketing analysis and automation platforms
- Identify inefficient programming and processes and recommend data‑driven improvements
- Analyze marketing performance data and in-force business (campaigns, channels, funnels, customer journeys) to identify trends, insights, and optimization opportunities
- Help conduct industry research, compile relevant data, and stay abreast of market and technology best practices to support the department’s initiatives and the development of sales and training materials
Quality Assurance (QA) & Testing
- Ensure systems and marketing tools align with the business requirements, branding, end user expectations and evolving technical practices
- Conduct comprehensive testing throughout the development lifecycle and routinely audit systems for consistency, content and grammatical accuracy, and optimal user experience
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios for marketing platforms and digital assets and document the results
- Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Validate and monitor campaign setups, tracking tags, pixels, and data flows across systems
- Ensure data accuracy in reports, dashboards, and marketing tools and present data in a manner that is simple to interpret and share with non-technical stakeholders
- Log, track, and manage defects and system enhancements through resolution using QA or ticketing tools such as Jira
- Support post‑deployment validation, troubleshooting and ongoing quality monitoring
Collaboration & Project Management
- Act as a liaison between Marketing, developers, vendors, and other subject matter experts
- Clearly communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to non‑technical stakeholders
- Support documentation of processes, standards, best practices and business decisions
- Assist with training and adoption of new tools and reporting solutions
Your Qualifications
- Must be fluent in English; French language skills an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Analytics, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in business analysis, marketing analytics, and/or QA testing
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment with a commitment to quality and attention to detail. Proven ability to multitask and manage multiple project deadlines
- Strong understanding of digital marketing channels and technology platforms (email, web, paid media, CRM & marketing automation systems, analytics tools)
- Experience with QA testing methodologies and defect management; proficiency in data analysis and reporting (Excel, SQL, BI tools)
- Strong documentation, problem‑solving, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and discretion; must be able to collaborate and communicate effectively with external partners and people at all levels of an organization
