Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
- Possess a Millwright Certificate of Qualification - 433A
- Provide maintenance support to an aluminum extrusion plant
- Demonstrate a commitment to safe working practices
- Have 5-10 years trades practical experience in a heavy industrial environment
- Bring firsthand experience working with hydraulic press and associated auxiliary equipment, various material handling equipment, gas fired heating equipment, etc.
- Demonstrate an ability to weld for the purpose of machine repair and fabrication as assigned
- Perform and completed corrective and preventative maintenance activities
- Complete equipment overhauls
- Be involved in capital projects when appropriate
- Work cooperatively with electrical trades
- Use and interpret drawings and manuals to assist in troubleshooting equipment and processes
- Perform basis machining tasks to support equipment repairs
- Experience working from heights, elevated platforms, rigging etc.
- Rotating shift work and scheduled overtime is required.
Preferred experiences and skills that are considered assets:
- Direct experience and exposure to the aluminum extrusion industry or similar
- Formal apprenticeship training
- Heavy industrial experience
- Fluid Power ( Pneumatic and Hydraulic ) background/certificate
- Experience with hydraulic devices, cylinders, pumps, valves, hydraulic power units etc.
- Welding experience
- Exposure to CMMS systems
- Fabrication and machining experience ( mill, lathe, surface grinder
- Experience working with systems that are PLC controlled - sensors, motors, valves etc.
