Job Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production. This role is the primary point of contact for all production staff and is responsible for answering questions, resolving workflow issues, and providing real‑time directions on the production floor. All production‑related questions or concerns are to be directed through the Production Supervisor to maintain controlled communication, clear accountability, and efficient problem resolution.
The role ensures that production activities comply with safety requirements, quality standards, work instructions, engineering documentation and company policies while coordinating workflow across fabrication, assembly, powder coating and shipping.
The following is a brief overview of the position; however, the employee is expected to assist other staff as required from time to time in various duties as needed.
Key Responsibilities;
Safety Leadership
- Enforce all safety policies, safe work practices, and proper PPE usage
- Conduct daily pre‑shift safety talks and reinforce hazard awareness
- Report and document incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviors; support investigations and corrective actions
- Maintain housekeeping standards to support a safe and efficient work environment
- Ensure machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and equipment safety requirements are followed
Production Floor Support & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for all production staff regarding questions, clarification, and operational support
- Ensure production employees consult the Supervisor before approaching Engineering for technical or design‑related issues
- Carry a radio and company phone at all times and respond promptly to production, quality, safety, or workflow issues
- Maintain a visible and consistent presence on the production floor; proactively identify bottlenecks, inventory shortages or inefficiencies
- Facilitate clear communication between Production, Engineering, Quality, Shipping, Maintenance, and Scheduling
- Hold employees accountable to attendance, quality, safety, and performance expectations
Daily Operations & Workflow Management
- Oversee day‑to‑day production activities to ensure schedules, output targets and customer deadlines are met
- Monitor work‑in‑progress (WIP), throughput, and workflow; reprioritize or reassign resources as needed
- Assign tasks based on daily demand, individual skills and shift coverage
- Verify materials, tools, drawings and work instructions are available before work begins
- Manage powder coating operations, including scheduling, batching and material readiness
- Coordinate with Maintenance regarding equipment issues and downtime, escalating concerns as required
Daily Standard Work & Scheduling Coordination
- Conduct a walk of the production floor at the start of the shift (approximately 8am) to:
- Confirm employee attendance and presence at assigned workstations
- Verify work has started as expected
- Identify and address immediate issues impacting productivity or safety
- Address staffing gaps due to absences by restructuring job assignments and reallocating labor as required
- Meet with Scheduling each morning (approximately 9am) to:
- Review production priorities
- Align work execution with customer requirements, late shipments and expedited orders
- Ensure that next‑day work plans are posted before the end of the shift for each work cell
- Confirm materials, documentation and work instructions are in place so production staff can begin work immediately at the start of the next shift
Quality & Process Compliance
- Ensure all work meets quality standards, product specifications and inspection requirements
- Collaborate with Quality Control to resolve defects, rework and nonconformances efficiently
- Verify adherence to approved work instructions, engineering drawings and documented processes
- Promote continuous improvement through waste reduction, process feedback and efficiency initiatives
- Ensure production staff complete accurate ERP entries for work orders
- Verify truck loading accuracy to ensure shipments match pick lists, work orders and shipping documentation
- Ensure trucks and shipping containers are packed correctly for delivery to distribution centers, verifying product quantities, configurations, load sequencing and securement prior to shipment release
- Ensure staff mark tasks as “WIP” when started and mark finished tasks as “complete” in Command Center to ensure clearer communication with Scheduling.
People Leadership & Development
- Supervise, mentor and support production employees to achieve safety, quality and productivity standards
- Lead huddles to communicate shift goals, safety messages and quality updates
- Support onboarding and training of new hires and ongoing skill development of existing employees
- Foster teamwork, accountability, problem solving and a respectful workplace
- Address attendance, performance, and conduct issues; escalate to HR or management when required
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
- Document downtime events, workflow disruptions, scrap and quality concerns
- Recommend improvements to processes, documentation, tools and workflows
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year

Experience:
- ERP systems: 2 years (required)
