Assists in the hiring, training, supervision, scheduling, counseling, and evaluation of performance and planning the activities of maintenance staff including making spot checks on a daily basis;
Ensures proper execution of work order/request system and that items are followed up on when necessary;
Ensures the hotel follows all local codes and regulations;
Maintains logs on movement of stock items and tools and monitor distribution of items;
Controls departmental labor and operational expense;
Makes effort in reasonable energy saving and launch productive programs;
Offer supervision on contractors and suppliers to assure the qualified rectification and items purchasing;
Creates, approves and posts all Engineering staff schedules;
Helps to create and adhere to annual budget for the division;
Ensures that all emergency and life safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified as per law and local codes;
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines;
Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives;
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information;
Requires reading of blue prints;
Supervises and trains all Engineering staff in Customer Service, Empowerment, Standard Operating Procedures and Loss Prevention Standards;
Acts appropriately in all dangerous and/or emergency situations (fires, power outages, infiltrations, floods, etc.);
Ensures that the work order/request system is properly executed and that items are followed up as required;
Prepares requisitions and work orders and ensures effective liaison with the Procurement Manager;
Implements preventive maintenance programs, policies and rules to ensure effective service;
