Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Fabricator/Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components with precision and efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of various welding techniques, blueprint reading, and mechanical processes to ensure high-quality production standards. The position offers an opportunity to work on structural steel fabrication.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine project specifications
- Perform MIG welding on steel with attention to quality and safety standards
- Operate press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and form materials
- Use hand tools, power tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure precise cuts and assemblies
- Rigging materials and components for lifting or positioning using cranes or forklifts as needed
- Assemble fabricated parts according to specifications, ensuring proper fit and finish
- Conduct machining operations on parts requiring additional shaping or finishing
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by adhering to safety protocols and procedures
- Assist in troubleshooting fabrication issues and recommend improvements for efficiency
Skills
- Proficiency in MIG welding, oxy-torch cutting, and general welding techniques
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes and equipment operation
- Experience with blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings
- Ability to operate machinery such as press brake machines, machining tools, cranes, forklifts.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, calipers, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Knowledge of manufacturing standards related to construction
- Ability to interpret schematics and assembly instructions accurately
- Strong understanding of safety procedures in a manufacturing or construction environment
