Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant/Cashier to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, managing transactions accurately, and maintaining a clean and organized station environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail setting, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently. Bilingual abilities and experience in retail sales or merchandising are a plus, helping to enhance customer interactions and sales opportunities. Must be available to work daytime/ evenings and weekends.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their needs in a courteous manner
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Manage fuel pump operations and ensure proper fueling procedures
- Conduct product demos and upsell convenience items to increase sales
- Maintain cleanliness of the station, including the store area and fuel pumps
- Restock shelves and display merchandise to attract customers
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly with excellent phone etiquette
- Manage cash register operations with accuracy and attention to detail
- Assist in merchandising efforts to promote products effectively
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with company policies
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, or retail sales preferred
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customers
- Organizational skills to manage time effectively during busy periods
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques and upselling strategies is a plus
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations confidently
- Good phone etiquette and organizational skills for effective customer interactions
