Logistics & Shipping Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Commercial Operations & Logistics
Supervises: Shipping and Warehouse Teams (Annelida & Foster’s ProPack operations)
Location: Nisku, Alberta
Position Overview:
This position collaborates within all shipping, receiving, and warehouse logistics activities for Annelida and Foster’s ProPack operations. This role ensures that orders are shipped accurately, on time, and in full compliance with company standards. The role provides hands-on leadership to the shipping and warehouse teams, coordinates with carriers and vendors, maintains documentation in CIN7, and ensures the safe and efficient organization of warehouse and yard operations.
This position plays a vital role in all shipping and freight-related activities, ensuring proper cost tracking, operational consistency, and policy adherence across locations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Shipping Operations
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipping for Annelida and Foster’s ProPack, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper documentation.
- Liaising with carriers, freight companies, and drivers, resolving any delivery or scheduling issues.
- Participate in truck scheduling, load planning, and route coordination to maximize delivery efficiency.
- Ensure the completion of all shipping processes within CIN7, including order picking, verification, and closing.
- Ensure QC (Quality Control) checks are completed before dispatching any orders.
- Monitor, track, and archive shipment documentation and photos to maintain full traceability.
2. Warehouse and Yard Management
- Participate in the organization and safe operation of warehouse and yard spaces across all sites.
- Maintain systematic product organization, labeling, pallet rotation, and storage standards to support efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate pallet counts, returns, and ordering of shipping supplies and materials.
- Coordinate forklift operators, stagers, and yard crews to ensure safe and productive operations.
- Execute inventory count processes within warehouses and yards, ensuring data integrity between physical stock and CIN7 records.
- Monitor storage areas to ensure organized layout, safe stacking, and product movement efficiency.
3. Process Control and Documentation
- Follow and help improve policies and procedures related to shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
- Assist in ensuring all SOPs and compliance standards are followed by the shipping and warehouse teams.
- Monitor and report on shipping costs, freight charges, and related expenditures for management visibility.
- Create, update, and ensure completion of Purchase Orders (POs) for logistics, packaging, and related materials.
- Track, report, and escalate any operational or quality concerns.
4. Team Leadership and Coordination
- Collaborate with the shipping and warehouse teams at both Annelida and Foster’s ProPack, ensuring accountability and operational alignment.
- Coordinate staffing and task assignments based on production schedules, order volumes, and freight availability.
- Promote a culture of safety, accuracy, and efficiency in all shipping and yard operations.
- Support cross-functional communication with Production, Sales, and Administration teams to ensure alignment on order timing, inventory readiness, and shipment priorities.
Qualifications:
Must haves:
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in freight coordination, cost tracking, and carrier management.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced operations.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Forklift certification.
- Excellent communication skills and strong leadership presence.
Considered an asset:
- Experience supervising or managing teams in a production or warehouse environment.
- Experience with the Cin7 ERP system.
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
