The Inventory Coordinator is responsible for the daily management of stock levels, ensuring that inventory is accurate, organized, and ready for distribution. This is a physically active, floor-based role that involves moving materials, performing counts, and troubleshooting discrepancies in real-time. You will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and the Purchasing team to maintain optimal stock flow.
Key Responsibilities
- Stock Management & Maintenance:
- Physically receive, unpack, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders.
- Organize and "slot" inventory in the warehouse to maximize space and picking efficiency.
- Monitor "Min/Max" levels to ensure high-demand fastening products never go out of stock.
- Inventory Accuracy:
- Lead and execute daily cycle counts and periodic full-scale physical audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies (e.g., missing items, overages, or damaged goods).
- Update the ERP/Inventory Management System immediately to reflect physical stock movements.
- Operational Support:
- Coordinate with the sales and shipping departments to prioritize "hot" orders or backlisted items.
- Identify and process slow-moving or obsolete (SLOB) inventory.
- Ensure all hazardous materials or specialized hardware are stored according to safety compliance.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect incoming products for defects or shipping damage before they are added to live inventory.
- Manage the RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) process for defective stock.
