Responsibilities:
· Supervise campers during all daily activities and special outings if applicable
· Plan activities and games for campers
· Support positive animal interactions
· Model good sportsmanship through enthusiastic, non-competitive participation and support
· Lead groups from one activity to another in an orderly manner
· Be aware of camper medical and dietary needs
· Keep accurate records and report immediately to Program Coordinator any challenges
· Create a positive and meaningful rapport with campers, campers’ guardians, CA Humane staff, and volunteers
· Keep track of any supplies needed and report to Program Coordinator
· Keep the education room clean and tidy throughout the day and deep clean at the end of each camp week
Teach and encourage campers to learn about CA Humane Society
Qualifications:
· Full time student in a related field is preferred (education, social work, animal health and welfare)
· Criminal Records Check
· Experience working with children is preferred
· Love of animal’s mandatory
· Excellent people skills and a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude.
· Patience, good leadership skills, enthusiasm
· Strong communication and leadership skills
· Able to problem solve effectively
Valid driver’s license if considered an asset. Must be able to get to and from work on time
Job Types: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: $17.50 per hour
