Position Summary:
- The Canadian Mental Health Association, Simcoe County Branch seeks an Addiction Therapist for HART Hub, who, in accordance with the agency’s policies, standards, and guidelines, is responsible for assessing an individual’s degree of problematic use of mood-altering substances and/or gambling, and for providing individual and group therapy. They will also provide resource information to that person in regards to treatment as necessary.
What You'll Do:
- Provide assessment of addiction and determine mutually agreed upon treatment plan.
- Provide individual and group therapy to those suffering the effects of substance and/or gambling misuse.
- Coordinate and co-facilitate groups with other HART Hub partner agencies.
- Collaborate with other service providers to facilitate access to/coordination of services.
- Provide aftercare/follow-up to clients referred.
- Provide all services mentioned above in satellite offices, as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum five (5) years combined education and experience in the human services field.
- Must have one of the following: Social Service Worker, Addictions Diploma or, a University degree in a human service related field.
- All applicants must be registered as a member in good standing with one of the following six regulatory bodies: the College of Psychologists of Ontario, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, the College of Nurses of Ontario, the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario, or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario.
- Experience in mental health and/or addictions sector (community-based setting preferred).
- Must have access to a vehicle, a valid Ontario driver’s license, and adequate automobile insurance.
- Fluency in French or another second language would be an asset.
- Submission of a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC), including a Criminal Record Check (CRC).
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
Salary Scale:
- Addiction Therapist Level 1: $54,655 - $60,497 per annum
Hours of Work:
- Thirty-five (35) hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Able to work within a flexible framework to respond to client needs.
