Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales & Marketing, the Interior Design Consultant is responsible for conducting client design appointments, completing design packages efficiently and accurately, and supporting model home and sales centre design initiatives.
This role is being added to support increased volume and an existing backlog of design appointments. The successful candidate will be an experienced designer who can step in quickly, streamline processes, identify inefficiencies, and help accelerate timelines while maintaining a high-quality client experience.
Experience working with ECI MarkSystems is considered a major asset, and candidates with this experience will be prioritized.
Host Design Studio tours and structural appointments as scheduled
Schedule and conduct client design appointments in a professional, efficient manner, including:
1–2 hour plan and electrical reviews, including authorization on all plans and elevations
2–3 hour interior selection appointments, documenting all selections, providing recommendations, touring the studio, demonstrating optional features, and confirming all available options have been reviewed
Strive to meet or exceed community design studio sales targets while delivering a personalized client experience
Prepare quotes, applicable sketches, and redlines
Prepare and submit complete and accurate design packages, including:
Design Change Orders for final client review and authorization
Coordination of revised plans based on selected options
Creation of colour-coded floor plans for trade reference
Completion of required sketches and trade forms
Support backlog reduction by prioritizing outstanding files and improving turnaround times
Identify opportunities to streamline design studio processes and documentation
Recommend and implement improvements to reduce rework, duplication, and delays
Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve handoffs between design, sales, and construction
Maintain the Design Studio to ensure offerings remain current, organized, and appealing
Perform other related duties as assigned
Previous experience in residential interior design or a design consultant role, preferably within a homebuilding or development environment
Experience with 20/20 Cabinet Design Program considered an asset
Strong organizational, documentation, and client communication skills
Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines independently
Available to work some evenings
This is a part-time contract position (20–25 hours per week) with an anticipated term of 6–12 months.
Compensation and contract length will be based on experience, skill set, and ability to step in quickly to support current volume and backlog reduction.
