Job Overview

Duties
- Provide Intervention to individuals who are deafblind in their home and community environments.
- Provide a level of Intervention that ensures the person who is deafblind is successful in all aspects of daily living and life skills including personal hygiene, meal preparation, house cleaning etc.
- Ensures documentation and records are completed.
- Work as part of a team and provide input.
Requirements
Are you a student currently enrolled or graduated from one of the following courses:
- A Post-Secondary Education in Intervenor Services, Developmental Services Worker, Personal Support Worker, Social Services Worker or a related field.
- Experience supporting individuals who are deafblind.
- Knowledge of various communication techniques (sign language, picture cues) an asset.
- Strong organizational skills and critical thinking ability.
- Valid Ontario Driver's License full Class G required.
- *This is a FT position. MUST be willing and be available to work flexible shifts - including days (7-3, 8-4), afternoons (11 am - 7 pm, 1-9, 3-11), nights (11 pm - 7 am) and weekends for all shifts.
- Police check is required for all successful applicants as per Ministry Guidelines.
Pay: From $25.73 per hour

- Must be available to work flexible shifts Monday to Sunday. These include days, afternoons and evenings. Schedule is a 3 week rotating schedule that will include a variation of these shifts. (Days - 7-3, 8-4)(Afternoons - 11 am - 7 pm, 1-9, 3-11)(Nights - 11 pm - 7 am) Are you available for all above shifts?
Experience:
- Support worker: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Ontario Driver's License full Class G (required)
