Join Our Team This Summer at Fort Point Museum
Fort Point Museum, located on the beautiful LaHave River in LaHave, Nova Scotia, is hiring heritage interpreters for the 2026 season. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in museum work, research, and event planning in a fun and historic setting.
Job Highlights:
- Lead daily museum operations, including giving tours, greeting visitors, running the gift shop, maintaining the museum, and helping with groundskeeping.
- Help organize and run events, workshops, and programs at the museum, including public archaeology digs and community activities.
- Help researching artifacts and updating exhibits in the museum.
- Help promote the museum through social media and other platforms.
Skills We’re Looking For:
- Clear communication and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Computer literacy, including basic social media skills.
- Interest or passion for history, education, and tourism.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Requirements:
- Must be a full-time student returning to school in Fall 2026
- Applicants must be available 35 hours weekly, with weekend availability, for an 8 week position beginning at the beginning of July.
- Fluent English required; conversational French is a plus
