Chief Mate (Watchkeeping Mate Near Coastal)
We have an opening for a Chief Mate to work on one of our vessels based primarily in Placentia Bay. This is a full-time year-round position with a 3 week on/off schedule.
This is open to candidates who live in Newfoundland. A background with technologically advanced vessels and experience with ship handling is an asset. Applicants must also be willing and interested in working outdoors in a hands on roll.

Qualifications
- Watchkeeping Mate Near Coastal Certificate of Competency or FM4 Certificate of Competency with relevant experience.
- Valid Transport Canada Marine Medical
- Valid ROC-MC (or higher certificate)
- Valid MED’s
- Valid Basic First Aid (or higher certificate)
- Ability and willingness to do hands on work on deck.
- Aquaculture experience is an asset.
- AHTS, Dynamic Positioning, ROV, and Fishing Experience are considered assets.
- Other seagoing experience is an asset.
- Physical fitness.
- Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
Candidates new to the Aquaculture sector are welcome.
