The Facility Technician III position oversees the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance of the facility, including automatic retrieval systems (ASRS), dock equipment, electrical systems, plumbing, fleet shop support, refrigeration system operation, and security systems. This role requires advanced technical skills, troubleshooting expertise, and a strong understanding of safety regulations.
Responsibilities

Maintain and Repair Building Infrastructure: Conduct general building maintenance, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, lighting, and minor electrical repairs. Maintain facility assets through scheduled PM and repairs, including roofs, concrete/asphalt/wear-slabs, product racking, and ASRS.

Operate and Monitor Refrigeration Systems: Perform daily refrigeration operator duties, including ePSM inspections and logging.

Maintain and Repair Dock Equipment: Inspect, maintain, and repair various dock equipment, such as levelers (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic), doors (manual, electric), truck restraints (manual, electric, hydraulic), and dock seals/shelters.

Manage Maintenance Records and Documentation: Log time and materials into the CMMS daily using work orders, PMs, etc.

Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulations (OSHA and others). Maintain tools and equipment in safe working order and use appropriate PPE. Respond to emergencies and promote a strong safety culture.

Train and Mentor Junior Technicians: Train and mentor Facility Technician I and II staff.

Complete Special Projects: Complete special projects related to building and grounds maintenance as requested, such as moving furniture/fixtures.

Communicate and Collaborate Effectively: Adhere to organizational and Facilities Department policies and procedures. Interact effectively and build cooperative relationships. Participate in the departmental on-call program.
Skills

Proficiency in PLC troubleshooting, conduit bending, and motor control.

Ability to perform general building maintenance tasks (carpentry, plumbing, painting, etc.).

Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and refrigeration systems.

Experience with ASRS and dock equipment maintenance and repair.

Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and other relevant standards.

Proficiency in CMMS and other relevant software.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to train and mentor others.
