SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our incredible team! The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, processing payroll, filing and preparing financial reports as well as general administrative duties. This role requires proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks) and a strong understanding of basic accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working independently, with experience in developing and implementing office processes and systems. They will ensure secure financial systems and create simple, efficient processes that enhance staff productivity and accuracy. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. They will be able to perform both accounting duties, as well as general administrative duties.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Data entry for all financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory and payroll.
· Schedule / submit regular payments and record customer payments.
· Administer accounts receivable and accounts payable, including interacting with suppliers and service providers regarding invoices and payments.
· Assist with administering payroll.
· Assist with preparing government information returns and filings.
· Work with management to produce monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
· Work with management to prepare and file income taxes.
· Maintain and organize financial and accounting records.
· Reconciling accounts.
· Reconcile corporate credit cards.
· Assist with year end financial reports and T4's.
· Assist with the development and maintenance of budgets.
· Other accounting and bookkeeping duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & Experience:
Required:
· Proven experience as a bookkeeper or similar role
· knowledge of commercial banking credit card systems
· Has advanced knowledge of Quickbooks / Quickbooks Online.
· Proficiency in accounting principles and practices
· Familiarity with accounting software and tools
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organizational and time management skills
· Exceptional attention to detail and pride in a high standard of work
· Proficiency with Excel
Preferred:
· Experience bookkeeping in the non-profit sector including using standardized software for tracking donations (e.g. Canada Helps / Bloomerang / Fundraise Up) and issuing receipts acceptable to the Canada Revenue Agency
· Knowledge of setting up and maintaining a standard filing system for a BC society
· knowledge of BC Registrar of Societies requirements for annual filings
· Experience working with a Board of Directors and Treasurer a non-profit in preparing regular financial reports
Pay: $34.00-$38.00 per hour
