Fair Catch Fishmongers is a boutique seafood market with three locations in Toronto. We think shopping for seafood can sometimes be an intimidating experience - at Fair Catch Fishmongers we make choosing and buying fish easy and fun!
We are looking for a part-time up to (25 hrs / week) fish counter retail associate with excellent customer service skills to work in the front of house with helping customers as well as help in the kitchen with prepared seafood production. We’ll provide a friendly work environment, on the job training and lots of opportunity for advancement as we grow our business.

What you’ll do:
· Advise customers on how to choose the type of fish to purchase, and how to prepare it.
· Weigh, wrap and affix price labels to products, ring up transactions.
· Replenish supplies and rotate products in the seafood display counter.
· Cut, portion, skin, pinbone and fillet fish as required.
· Help occasionally with seafood production, executing made-from-scratch recipes (chowders, crab cakes, etc.)
· Maintain a safe and clean retail storefront and work area.
· Clean display case, glass, merchandisers, coolers, floors, and cookware as required.
· Follow Food, Health and Workplace Safety standards
· Perform full store opening and/or closing routine.
· Learn about responsible fishing practices and the various standards and certifications for sustainable seafood.
Job Requirements:
· Excellent communication and customer service skills.
· Experience (and passion for) working with fresh fish and a variety of seafood.
· Basic knife skills.
· Good knowledge of food principles and best practices
· Able to work under minimal supervision.
· Able to lift 50 lb. boxes.
· Food Handler Certification
- Compensation: $20 -$25/hr
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
