Position Summary:
JCL Medical Billing is currently looking for a motivated and detail oriented Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will need to show initiative, have a strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure and excellent time management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter OHIP and Non-OHIP claims across different software platforms
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding billing inquiries
- Review Ministry of Health documentation regarding changing billing code rules and requirements
- Investigate and resubmit errored and denied OHIP claims, initiate Remittance Advice Inquiries.
- Monitor MOH responses and engage in follow-up communications to resolve outstanding issues.
- Review physician billing claims meticulously for completeness and accuracy, ensuring adherence to Ministry of Health submission deadlines.
- Manage time efficiently and work well under pressure
Requirement:
- Knowledge of health system and medical terminology, diagnostic and OHIP billings codes
- Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Experience in medical billing is preferred
- Experience with customer service and data entry is an asset
- Experience with medical billing software and EMR systems is considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing demands
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Power Point)
Salary expectations for this role are $22–$28 per hour, based on experience, for approximately 35–40 hours per week.
