As part of our Production team, you will be responsible for the London organization by representing and being held accountable to all business requirements and KPIs, as well as providing supervision for team leaders.
Position Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will perform the following duties:
- As part of our team, compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, policies, procedures, and Life Saving Golden Rules will be essential.
- Support production department in meeting goals and objectives by ensuring all employees comply with company policies and procedures, and current health and safety legislation.
- Meet or exceed the Health and Safety of the facility, ensuring the continued certification and improvement of the ISO 45001 systems.
- Reporting to the Plant Manager, the London Production Manager must establish and meet department goals and objectives that ensure both the customer and the Company's requirements are fulfilled.
- Ensure a continuous improvement mindset and methodology are created to ensure the facility is sustainable going forward.
- Report the performance of the OH&S management system to top management.
- Interfaces with support departments.
- Responsible for the quality system, ensuring ISO 14001 and QMS are adhered to, contributing to total customer satisfaction for both quality and delivery.
- Meet or exceed financial objectives both in EBITDA, and cost reductions for year-over-year improvement.
- Participate in the creation of the London Business Plan.
- Participate in the strategic planning for both London and Woodstock.
- Carry out periodic informal and consistent mid-year and year-end GEDP performance reviews with department staff to assess and inform individuals of their progress and offer assistance where it is needed to help them improve.
- Develop people and associated succession plans.
- Responsible for the harmonious operation of the manufacturing location and ensure appropriate linkages are developed between London and Woodstock.
- Ensure that the organization is built with a “people working with people” environment that is conducive to a team organization.
- Participate in recruitment, selection, and retention processes, and lead employee counseling/disciplinary process.
- Any other duties required from time to time and not specified listed herein.
- Comply to the OHSA section 25, duties of the supervisor
- Attend Product meetings, as required (e.g.: C2P), to ensure new product launches take place in a timely and efficient manner.
- Hire and develop staff that is responsible for exceeding department goals/objectives as defined by the customer and Company's requirements.
- Review and approve any new equipment before it is purchased for operations, and provide input and analysis into its design and production capabilities.
What you'll need
- 5 to 7 years managerial experience (of both hourly & salaried employees) in a busy manufacturing environment.
- Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and maintain strict confidentiality when dealing with privileged information.
- Working knowledge of TS 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Lean manufacturing experience in JIT environment, knowledge of welding, and continuous improvement definite assets.
