Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills to ensure the optimal performance of heavy machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance, repair, and safety compliance, supporting the continuous operation of our production facilities.
Duties
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy machinery, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using schematics, technical manuals, and analysis skills
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and low voltage systems to troubleshoot and repair equipment
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management
- Conduct welding, HVAC repairs, boiler maintenance, and other specialized tasks as needed
- Read and interpret schematics, technical diagrams, and wiring diagrams for accurate repairs
- Maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations related to industrial electrician work and electrical experience
- Assist in training or mentoring less experienced team members when necessary
- Ensure all work is performed efficiently to minimize downtime while maintaining high safety standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in welding, boiler systems, HVAC, and electrical systems including low voltage applications
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS software
- Background in industrial electrician work with a focus on electrical troubleshooting and analysis skills
- Ability to read schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams accurately
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnostics and repairs
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and customer service interactions
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to industrial maintenance operations
- Relevant certifications or training in mechanical maintenance, electrical systems, or related fields are preferred
