Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Activity Aide to join our team in providing engaging and meaningful activities for clients in our Adult Day Program. Monday-Friday 9am-3pm. The ideal candidate will have a passion for senior care, excellent communication skills, and experience working with individuals with disabilities or dementia. This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by promoting social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and implementing daily recreational and social activities
- Lead group activities such as games, crafts, music, exercise programs, baking, and special events
- Encourage participant engagement and inclusion in activities
- Adapt activities to meet individual abilities, interests, and needs
- Assist participants with mobility, transfers, and positioning as required and according to training
- Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
Requirements
- Activity Aide, Recreation Therapy Assistant, PSW, Recreational and Leisure Services, or related education preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with dementia, disabilities, or in an Adult Day Program setting
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Knowledge of infection control, elder care, and person-centered care practices
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist participants as required
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and respond appropriately to participant needs and emergencies
Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
