Job Description
Lactalis Canadia is a global provider of world class dairy products. We are looking for passionate and committed people to become EXPERT FOOD TASTERS (sensory panelists).
You will be performing analysis of appearance, taste, texture and aroma of dairy products (i.e., cheese, yogourt, and milk).
This is a casual volunteer position, that will require attendance at weekly sessions (75% attendance minimum) and is a long-term commitment (minimum 1 year commitment required).
A $40 grocery store gift card is provided per session as a thank-you for participation.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in scheduled sensory evaluation sessions, where both dairy and non-dairy food products will be consumed (please note allergens of dairy, gluten/wheat, soy, and nuts)
- Accurately detect, identify, and quantify sensory attributes such as appearance, aroma, flavour, taste, and texture.
- Use standardized sensory lexicons and scales to evaluate products.
- Maintain calibration and performance consistency through ongoing training and feedback.
- Follow all protocols, confidentiality requirements and good sensory practices
Requirements
- Commitment to attend weekly, 1.5 hour sessions
- Long term commitment (minimum 1 year)
- Daytime availability – Thursdays from 1pm-2:30pm
- Preferred participants that are retired or those with full availability
- Successful completion of sensory screening and qualification processes
