POSITION OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Vice-President/Executive Director, Operations, the Inclusion Coordinator will play a key role in advancing inclusive practices across the organization by supporting children, families, educators, and centre leadership teams. Through observation, coaching, collaboration, and resource development, this role will help create learning environments where all children can meaningfully participate, thrive, and reach their full potential. The Inclusion Coordinator focuses on building educator capacity through professional learning, reflective practice, and sustainable inclusive strategies that strengthen outcomes for children over time.

KEY ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Child & Classroom Support
-
Conduct classroom observations and assessments to identify strengths, barriers, and opportunities to support children's successful participation and inclusion.

Collaborate with centre teams to develop, implement, and monitor individualized support strategies and Individual Support Plans (ISPs).

Provide recommendations related to classroom environments, teaching practices, and transition planning to promote positive developmental outcomes, including transitions into care, between classrooms, and into school settings.

Work closely with Regional Directors and the Director of Quality to assess the evolving inclusion needs of centres and inform the allocation of enhanced funding and support resources to areas of greatest need.
Family & Community Partnership

Build collaborative relationships with families to support children's individual needs, development, and inclusion goals.

In conjunction with the Centre Director, facilitate consultations with families to share observations, discuss strategies, and provide guidance and resources.

Partner with community agencies and external professionals to coordinate supports and services for children and families, where appropriate
Educator Capacity Building

Provide coaching, mentoring, and in-class modelling to strengthen educators' knowledge, skills, and confidence in inclusive practices and capacity in supporting diverse learning and developmental needs.

Promote reflective practice and support educators in developing sustainable strategies that build long-term classroom capacity and positive outcomes for children.

Support educators and leaders in addressing classroom challenges and implementing effective strategies to support diverse learner needs, with an emphasis on educator empowerment, problem-solving, and sustainable inclusive practices.

Develop and deliver training, workshops, and professional learning opportunities related to inclusion, child development, self-regulation, behaviour support, and exceptionalities.
Program Quality & Operational Support

Support the development and implementation of consistent inclusion practices, standards, and procedures across the organization.

Develop tools, templates, resources, and best-practice guides to support educators, leaders, and families.

Monitor inclusion trends, analyze data, and provide recommendations to strengthen programs, services, and organizational outcomes.

Work with the Regional Directors and Director of Quality

OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
-
Required education level: Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Good Standing
-
Post-secondary education in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Psychology, Special Education, Behavioural Sciences or a related field an asset
-
Years of relevant experience: 3 to 5 years of working experience in early years education, including supporting children with diverse development, behavioural, communication and learning needs. Experience across multiple age groups is considered an asset
Technical Skills & Certifications:

Post-graduate certificate in Resource Consulting preferred
-
Additional training/certification in inclusion, behaviour support, autism, self-regulation, or special needs considered an asset

Strong knowledge of child development, inclusion practices, self-regulation, executive functioning, trauma-informed practice, relationship-based approaches, and strategies to support children with diverse developmental, behavioural, communication, and learning needs.

Strong knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) requirements and regulations

Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL BE REQUIRED TO MEET MINISTRY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING:
