Safety Net Security LTD (SNS) a subsidiary of The Corrado Venture Inc. Group of Companies (CVI) is comprised of four divisions operating across the country, is looking for Hoist Operators in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Position Overview:
This position’s primary function will be as the hoist operator; however, labor duties will be required, as necessary. The shifts would be 8 hours per day/night with overtime available as required. All training will be provided for the Hoist Operator.
DUTIES
- Observes signals and operates a hoist in lowering, raising, or moving people, materials, and equipment up and down the building to designated floors
- Completes daily safety checks of hoist equipment and cables; throughout shift maintains a close watch of the hoist operation immediately reporting mechanical or operational defects to a supervisor
- Consistent clearing of work area
- Comply with all regulations

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Ability to understand and execute oral instructions.
- Ability to detect mechanical and operational defects in hoist equipment.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to develop skill in the operation of the equipment involved in the work.
- Previous experience as a hoist operator and construction is considered an asset
- Ankle length steel toed boots (mandatory)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- OFA1 certification (preferred)
- Dependable & safety focused
- Steel toed work boots; all other PPE will be provided
