Job description:
Basha Foods International is a vibrant and diverse grocery store committed to offering a wide selection of international and local products. We are looking for an energetic, hands-on Assistant Grocery Manager to help lead our team and keep our shelves stocked with the flavors our customers love.
Duties
- Oversee daily department operations, ensuring the sales floor is beautifully merchandised, fully stocked, and clean.
- Assist in managing inventory levels, tracking fast-moving international goods, and placing accurate orders to minimize shrink (spoiled/damaged goods) while maximizing stock availability.
- Oversee the loading dock and receiving area to ensure shipments are checked for accuracy, quality, and safely moved to the floor or warehouse.
- Resolve customer inquiries and complaints with patience, respect, and a community-first mindset.
- Ensure the store strictly adheres to food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and occupational health and safety guidelines.
Skills
- Minimum 2 years of retail grocery experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role (Shift Lead, Department Supervisor, or Assistant Manager).
- Experience with international inventory, specialty products, or large-scale ethnic grocery operations is highly preferred.
- Flexibility to work a retail schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and comfortably lift up to 50 lbs when helping the team stock shelves or unload pallets.
- Strong communication skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and basic proficiency with retail POS and inventory software.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
