We’re a fast-moving small business looking for a hands-on Controller who’s ready to take ownership of our financial operations and help guide the business forward.
This isn’t a back-office, “just close the books” kind of role. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, detail-oriented, and strategic—someone who sees opportunities in the numbers and isn’t afraid to speak up.
To start, this would be a part time role with a transition to a full time position down the road.
What You’ll Be Doing
Full-Cycle Accounting Ownership
- Manage all day-to-day accounting functions across the business
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements
Financial Insight & Strategy
- Analyze financial performance and provide actionable recommendations
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Monitor financial health, ratios, and banking covenants
Payroll & Compliance
- Process payroll and ensure accurate source deductions
- Manage all government remittances (GST, payroll, WCB, etc.)
- Prepare and file T4s and other required reporting
Accounts & Operational Support
- Oversee accounts receivable, invoicing, and collections
- Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and reconciliations
- Maintain and reconcile multiple bank and credit accounts
- Support inventory tracking and reconciliation processes
Financing, Leases & Amortization
- Manage and maintain amortization schedules for loans, capital leases, and financing arrangements
- Track payments, interest, and balances to ensure accuracy and alignment with agreements
- Support debt management, including reviewing banking agreements and funding structures
External Relationships
- Liaise with external accountants for year-end and tax preparation
- Work with banking partners on financing, reporting, and compliance requirements
What You Bring
- 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally in a small or mid-sized business
- Strong understanding of full-cycle accounting
- Experience with payroll processing and government remittances (must-have)
- Experience managing amortization schedules, leases, or financing structures is a strong asset
- Proficiency in accounting software (Sage experience is a strong asset)
- Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail

Pay: $75,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
