Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking and pastry arts, with experience in plating and food presentation. This role involves preparing high-quality baked goods, creating visually appealing desserts, and ensuring all products meet food safety standards. Duties
- Prepare and bake a variety of pastries, cakes, and desserts according to established recipes and standards
- Assist with food preparation and cooking for the restaurant's dessert and savoury menu
- Handle food safely and maintain proper hygiene practices in accordance with food safety regulations
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including equipment, utensils, and workstations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service during busy hours
- Support inventory management by monitoring ingredients and supplies needed for pastry production
Qualifications
- Proven experience in baking, pastry arts, or a related culinary field; restaurant experience is a mandatory
- Skills in plating and food presentation techniques
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and creativity in dessert design
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with guests or clients
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, and general kitchen operations
- Kitchen experience within the food industry is mandatory
