We are an award-winning organization, with 75 years under our belt, dedicated to keeping communities safe in the areas of fire protection, security, and life safety. We currently have over 230 talented individuals across 4 business units – Richmond (our Headquarters), Calgary, Toronto and Texas.
A Fire Protection Shop Labourer is responsible for keeping our communities safe by mainly inspecting and recharging fire extinguishers. This is an essential role to ensure our Fire Service Technicians in the field have the fire prevention equipment needed to service our customers needs. The Fire Protection Shop Labourer also provides required support to maintain the facilities and aid other business units as required.
This role will be operating out of our head office in Richmond, BC.
CORE DUTIES
Fire Extinguisher Service
- Inspect, refurbish, and maintain a wide range of fire extinguishers.
- Document extinguisher and hose services; dispose of extinguishers as needed.
Facilities Upkeep & Maintenance
- Maintain the facilities by keeping the grounds clean and well organized.
- Keep the stockroom, racks, and outside storage areas clean and well-organized.
- Support other departments by keeping the building systems operational as directed.
Other Responsibilities
- Provides support to the Depot Delivery Driver as needed.
- Operate a forklift (training and certification provided).
- Collaborate with the Parts Team on various tasks and provide general support.

- Physically capable of standing, bending, twisting, squatting, and lifting (up to 50 lbs) as required.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks with consistent accuracy and efficiency.
- Comfortable performing hands-on work in a physically active environment and unafraid to get dirty as part of daily tasks.
- Has a mechanical aptitude (comfortable using hand tools) and eagerness to learn.

Pay: $23.00 per hour
