Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a valid Ontario driver's license, a strong understanding of plumbing systems (full plumbing license would be an asset), be able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess excellent problem-solving skills. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining plumbing systems in residential settings (service residential). The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and appliances.
- Interpret blueprints and schematics to determine the layout of plumbing systems.
- Perform routine inspections of plumbing systems to identify potential issues.
- Assemble and install piping systems using various materials such as PVC, copper, and steel.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople including carpenters and HVAC technicians for integrated installations.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Conduct welding tasks as needed for specific plumbing projects.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
Skills
- Proficient in heavy lifting and physical stamina to perform demanding tasks.
- Strong basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to plumbing installations.
- Ability to assemble various components accurately and efficiently.
- Familiarity with carpentry skills is a plus for integrated projects.
- Experience with welding techniques is advantageous for specific plumbing tasks.
- Knowledge of building structures to effectively plumb new installations.
- Proficient in reading schematics to understand complex plumbing layouts.
- Skilled in using hand tools required for plumbing work, ensuring precision in all tasks.
