Brand Ambassador
Location: Huntsville (regular travel across Muskoka region; occasional travel outside the region)
Status: Full-time or Part-time (evenings/weekends required)
Role Summary
As a public-facing member of the Muskoka Gourmet team, the Brand Ambassador leads product sampling and education at community and industry events and in client locations. The role builds brand awareness through energetic, professional consumer engagement, services and merchandises local retail accounts, supports social media and community interactions, and provides support in the Muskoka Gourmet retail storefront and production as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Brand Representation & Sampling (Primary)
- Plan, set up, and run product sampling events at retailers, festivals, and partner venues; ensure displays, signage, and talking points meet brand standards.
- Confidently engage consumers, communicate product benefits, gather feedback, and encourage conversion to sale.
- Follow safe food-handling and sanitation practices; manage sampling inventory, transport, and equipment.
- Capture quick content (photos/short clips) at events and share for social use.
Retail Service & Merchandising
- Service local accounts: stock rotation, facing, pricing, point-of-purchase materials, and display compliance.
- Monitor inventory levels and out-of-stocks; communicate orders or issues to the team.
- Build positive relationships with store staff and managers.
Social & Community Engagement
- Engage with the community online (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, TikTok): reply to comments/DMs, reshare user generated content, and identify opportunities for future partnerships.
- Provide basic content capture and post event recaps; support giveaways, collabs, and local outreach.
- Track simple engagement metrics and share weekly highlights.
Events, Networking & Partnerships
- Attend networking and industry events; represent the brand professionally and expand local connections.
- Coordinate event logistics (load-in/out, permits/passes, samples, collateral) with the team.
Storefront & Production Support
- Assist in the Muskoka Gourmet retail storefront (greet customers, sampling, cash/POS, restocking, cleanliness).
- Support light production tasks (packing, labeling) following SOPs and quality standards when required.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain an accurate activation calendar; complete demo recaps, lead lists, mileage/expense logs, and time sheets on time.
- Care for company assets (demo kits, uniforms, devices) and report maintenance needs.
Qualifications
- Energetic, outgoing, consumer-facing communicator who enjoys engaging with people.
- Proficient with major social platforms; marketing or promotions background is an asset.
- 1+ year in brand ambassadorship, retail merchandising, events, hospitality, or customer service (asset).
- Food Handler certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).
- Valid G driver’s license and reliable transportation; comfortable traveling outside Muskoka on occasion.
- Able to lift up to 40 lb, stand for extended periods, and set up displays/equipment.
- Strong organization skills.
- Demonstrated high level of integrity and professionalism: reliably follows company policies (incl. food safety, cash/POS, social media and confidentiality), exercises sound judgment at events and online, and represents the brand with courtesy and respect in all interactions.
Schedule & Travel
- Variable schedule aligned to events and retail traffic; frequent weekends and some evenings.
