Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office (PMO) in the office of the CIO, the Project Manager is responsible to provide project management of enterprise scale information technology projects such as an enterprise resource planning solution (ERP), and support efforts to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization through the successful management delivery of, or contribution to, enterprise-wide projects. The projects led by the Project Manager are strategic and transformational in nature. The Project Manager is responsible for developing and managing all project work during each process of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling and closeout. Within the Office of the CIO, the Project Manager is responsible to support the initiative intake process providing input on ITS’ recommended approach.
Qualifications:
The incumbent must possess the following qualifications:
- Knowledge of operational management and leadership concepts practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, planning, budgeting, performance measurement management, and human resources
- Knowledge of project management, business analysis, and information technology program design, delivery, assessment, and evaluation methodologies, processes, and practices
- Knowledge of relevant governing legislation, collective agreements, policies and procedures
- Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices
Education and Experience:
- Completion of a bachelors degree in Information Systems or Computer Systems or related field Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered a strong asset
- Minimum five years of progressive experience in waterfall and agile project management for enterprise-wide information technology projects including two years of management and leadership experience and demonstrated experience in change management practices.
