Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Apprentice to join our skilled construction team. This entry-level position offers hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication, installation, and maintenance within a dynamic construction environment. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess basic technical skills, and have a strong work ethic. This apprenticeship provides valuable training opportunities to develop expertise in sheet metal work and related trades such as plumbing, welding, and carpentry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with cutting, shaping, and installing sheet metal components according to project specifications
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to ensure accurate fabrication and installation
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks
- Support team members in construction activities including caulking, flooring installation, tile laying, and restoration projects
- Participate in construction painting and general site cleanup to maintain a safe work environment
- Learn to operate welding equipment and understand basic schematics related to sheet metal systems
- Collaborate with experienced tradespeople to gain practical knowledge of construction processes
Requirements
- Basic familiarity with hand tools, construction practices, and carpentry is preferred
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Strong interest in construction trades such as plumbing, welding, restoration, or flooring installation
- Good physical condition with the ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate loads
- Reliable transportation or access to job sites; valid driver’s license is advantageous
- Willingness to follow safety protocols and participate in ongoing training sessions
- Prior experience with caulking or tile laying is beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for all skills needed
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
