Technician, Trailer
Shift: Monday to Thursday (06:30 AM – 05:00 PM)

The TransX Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity for a Technician, Trailer to join the Shop BC facility. This position performs routine trailer cleaning, preparation, and basic servicing tasks under close supervision to support shop operations and fleet readiness. The incumbent completes assigned duties using established checklists, procedures, and safety standards while supporting licensed technicians by preparing trailers for service and reporting observed issues in a timely manner.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Trailer Cleaning & Basic Servicing: Clean trailer components and service areas according to shop standards. Prepare trailers for inspection, servicing, or repair activities. Remove debris, residue, and materials from service areas and maintain clean and organized work zones.

Routine Trailer Checks: Complete visual checks using established inspection checklists. Identify visible damage, wear, or missing components. Tag trailers according to instructions and unit status, and report observed issues to the supervisor.

Shop Support Activities: Stage tools, equipment, and parts for maintenance activities. Move trailers in and out of service bays as directed, assist technicians with non-technical support tasks, and maintain order in shared shops and yard areas.

Safety Practices: Follow all shop safety rules and PPE requirements. Apply safe handling practices when working around equipment and trailers. Identify and report unsafe conditions or hazards while maintaining compliance with housekeeping and safety signage requirements.

Documentation & Task Reporting: Record completed tasks in logs or shop systems as required and update work status according to instructions. Ensure documentation is accurate and complete, and communicate task completion or delays to the supervisor.

General Maintenance Support: Perform basic shop and yard support duties as assigned, including seasonal tasks such as snow removal or cleanup. Support material movement or staging activities when required and complete other routine duties as directed by supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma required.

Five (5) years of transportation industry experience is considered an asset.

CVIP Certification, Welding experience, and Mobile experience are considered strong assets.

Ability to follow safety and compliance standards.

Detail-oriented with basic written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and operate effectively in all weather conditions.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to work with mechanical tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic devices, as well as ability to diagnose mechanical and ABS system issues.
