Must LOVE Dogs!
Do you instinctively grab the vacuum when you see dog hair on the floor? Straighten a blanket without being asked? Wipe muddy paw prints off the glass because you simply can’t walk past them?
Do you believe dogs deserve a clean, safe and beautiful environment just as much as they deserve love, play and affection?
If so, we’d absolutely LOVE to meet you!
The Woofer Walkers is Richmond’s award-winning boutique dog daycare, boarding resort, Woofer Walks company and rescue sanctuary. Every day, our daycare, boarding and walks help support the lifelong care of our resident sanctuary woofers. This isn’t just another job—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of dogs.
What You’ll Be Doing
Supervising and interacting with our daycare woofers.
Reading canine body language and helping maintain safe, positive group play.
Vacuuming, mopping and helping keep our daycare and boarding areas clean, healthy and welcoming.
Washing dog bedding, blankets, towels and bowls.
Cleaning and disinfecting dog areas, gates, toys and other high-touch surfaces.
Helping wherever needed to keep our boutique resort looking its very best.
At The Woofer Walkers, cleaning isn’t just about appearances. A clean environment is an important part of keeping our woofers healthy, safe and happy.
Who We’re Looking For
You absolutely LOVE dogs.
You notice what needs doing without waiting to be asked.
You’re physically active and don’t mind being on your feet, cleaning, lifting laundry or working both indoors and outdoors.
You’re dependable, positive and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.
You take pride in creating beautiful, welcoming spaces.
Experience working with dogs is an asset, but reliability, initiative, a positive attitude and a genuine love of dogs are even more important.
A Few Things You Should Know
This is an active, hands-on job. Some days are calm and routine. Others are busy, muddy, rainy and wonderfully unpredictable!
Our woofers love being outdoors year-round, so there will be times you’ll be supervising dogs outside in all kinds of West Coast weather. Waterproof boots and a good rain jacket will definitely become your friends.
Reliability is absolutely essential. Our woofers depend on us every single day, so we need team members who arrive on time, every scheduled shift, ready to jump in and help.
Hours & Scheduling
Our staffing needs change throughout the year, so this position offers flexible hours based on the needs of our woofers and the seasonal demands of our business.
Some weeks will be fulL time, full day shifts, while other weeks may include shorter shifts or fewer scheduled full days. During our busiest seasons, there may also be opportunities for additional hours.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys flexibility and understands that no two weeks are exactly the same in a growing dog daycare and boarding business.
Compensation
Starting wage: $21- 22 per hour, depending on experience and the skills you bring to our team.
