Overview
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting machinery to produce precise components and parts, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained throughout the production process. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in fabrication and mechanical work to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate laser cutting machines according to specifications and technical drawings
- Prepare materials such as sheet metal for processing, ensuring correct placement and alignment
- Monitor machine operation during production runs, making adjustments as necessary to maintain accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to minimise downtime
- Conduct quality checks on finished components, inspecting for precision and adherence to specifications
- Assist with secondary processes such as grinding, welding, or assembly when required
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times
Skills
- Proven experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, or related manufacturing roles
- Knowledge of grinding, welding, and assembly processes is advantageous
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Proficiency with hand tools, tooling, and basic measurement instruments such as calipers or micrometers
- Good understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations during setup and production
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot laser cutting machinery efficiently
- Familiarity with sheet metal handling and the use of various hand tools in fabrication tasks
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and safety standards

Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
