Responsibilities
As a Class 1 Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for operating a tractor-trailer and completing deliveries to a predetermined list of restaurants and food service establishments. You will safely transport products while adhering to all traffic laws and company safety procedures. This role involves significant manual labour, including setting up ramps at the rear of the trailer, using dollies and pallet jacks to load and unload products, and lifting, stacking, and moving boxes weighing between 5 and 50 pounds. Drivers must be comfortable working in refrigerated environments and maintaining an organized and tidy trailer throughout their shift, including collecting and bundling cardboard and plastic for recycling. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, customer service, and efficiency while ensuring all deliveries are completed accurately and on time.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates must possess a valid Class 1 Driver's Licence and have a minimum of two years of Class 1 driving experience in Canada. Applicants are required to provide a clear driving abstract dated within the last 30 days and maintain a verified clean driving record. Candidates must be physically capable of repeatedly lifting and handling boxes weighing between 5 and 50 pounds throughout their shift and be comfortable performing manual labour in various conditions, including refrigerated environments. A strong commitment to workplace safety is essential, including practicing proper lifting techniques, maintaining safe driving habits, and remaining aware of surroundings at all times. CSA-approved steel-toe work boots are required, while all other necessary personal protective equipment will be provided by the client. Successful candidates must be dependable, safety-focused, and able to work long shifts, remaining on duty until all assigned deliveries and trailer unloading responsibilities have been completed.
