Nido de Montessori is a diverse educational community, offering children an exceptional education in a nurturing environment. Guided by both Inquiry-based and Montessori pedagogies, our program is tailored to the individual needs of each child, with an intentional focus on social and emotional development, curiosity, and meaningful learning experiences.
We are seeking a thoughtful, experienced, and reflective Early Childhood Educator - Curriculum Specialist to join our team as a full-time educator. This role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about inquiry-based learning, pedagogical documentation, and reflective practice.
The Curriculum Specialist will work directly with children and educators to support meaningful learning experiences, curriculum planning, classroom documentation, and reflective practice. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of inquiry-based learning and is excited to support children’s natural curiosity by transforming their questions, ideas, and observations into rich, meaningful learning experiences.
THE ROLE
As the Early Childhood Educator - Curriculum Specialist, you will:
Curriculum & Program Excellence
- Develop a strong understanding of Nido’s culture, philosophy, and approach to early learning
- Lead the development and implementation of Nido’s curriculum aligned with our Learning Foundations and Guiding Principles
- Plan, implement, organize, and enhance programming in alignment with Nido’s curriculum
- Create developmentally appropriate learning experiences that support children’s social-emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development
- Support pedagogical documentation, reflective practice, and inquiry-based curriculum planning
- Conduct program evaluations to drive continuous improvement
- Support student assessments and individualized learning strategies
- Maintain accurate and confidential program documentation
Classroom & Child-Centered Practice
- Establish loving, positive, safe, and secure relationships with children
- Support each child’s physical, social-emotional, and mental well-being
- Prepare and maintain clean, organized, and engaging classroom environments
- Document children’s learning and communicate effectively with families and colleagues
- Collaborate closely with educators to support reflective and responsive teaching practices
- Attend staff meetings and professional development opportunities
Culture & Community
- Foster a collaborative and relationship-based team environment
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with families and the broader community
- Uphold Nido’s Code of Conduct and policies, and professional standards
THE QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have:
- Valid BC Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certification
- Valid Emergency Child Care First Aid & CPR/AED Level B
- Clear Criminal Record Check
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada
- Strong experience with Inquiry-based learning and pedagogical documentation
- A commitment to contributing to team goals and fostering a positive and professional workplace
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and reflective practice skills
- A growth mindset and ability to thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment
- A passion for building meaningful relationships with children, families, and colleagues
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
COMMITMENT
- Full-time, Permanent
- Shifts scheduled between 8:00am - 5:00pm
- Some evenings and weekends for special events and workshops will be required
