Position Overview
We are currently seeking two experienced Skilled Torch Operators to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for cutting and processing scrap metal materials using oxy-fuel cutting torches in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate oxy-acetylene / oxy-fuel cutting torches safely and efficiently
- Cut oversized scrap metal to specification
- Perform daily equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Follow all company safety policies and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Work collaboratively with yard and production staff
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 - 3 years of torch cutting experience in scrap metal or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of safe torch handling and fire prevention procedures
- Ability to identify different types of metals
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- CSA-approved steel-toe boots and full PPE compliance required
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Reliable transportation
