Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Hygienist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality preventive dental care, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall patient experience. This role requires a professional who is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and proficient in various dental procedures. Experience with Dentrix is a plus, along with bilingual skills to serve our diverse patient community. The Dental Hygienist will work closely with our dental team to ensure optimal oral health outcomes for patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
Responsibilities
- Perform dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing teeth to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs as needed
- Provide patient education on proper oral hygiene practices and preventive care
- Assist in identifying oral health issues and communicate findings to the dentist
- Maintain accurate patient records using Dentrix or similar dental management software
- Support the dental team during various procedures, including assisting with orthodontic treatments when necessary
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterilization procedures
- Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and address their specific needs
- Deliver excellent customer service by creating a welcoming environment for all patients
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental office setting is preferred
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques and medical terminology is advantageous
- Experience with Dentrix or other dental practice management software is highly desirable
- Bilingual abilities are a plus, especially in Spanish or other languages commonly spoken by our patient base
- Familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics, and general dentistry enhances the ability to provide comprehensive care
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse patient populations
