Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Summary: We are hiring a Maintenance Technician for one of our manufacturing clients in Woodbridge! The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. This role focuses on preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, inventory management, and supporting day-to-day plant needs to minimize downtime and keep operations running smoothly. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience repairing machinery, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while supporting a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time, permanent.
Job Location: Woodbridge, ON. 100% on-site.
Shift Structure: Day Shift with flexibility to rotate between days/afternoons if the business ever required it.
Compensation Structure: $27.00-$33.00 per hour (depending on experience) + benefits + RRSP match after 1 year of employment with the company.
Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled maintenance inspections, repairs, adjustments, and servicing of equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and reliability.
· Troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty equipment components, including motors, compressors, coil units, expansion valves, and other mechanical parts.
· Maintain, monitor, and coordinate repairs for production equipment, facility systems, and general plant amenities.
· Complete general facility maintenance tasks, including interior and exterior lighting replacements and minor repairs as required.
· Respond to maintenance requests and provide timely support to address equipment or facility concerns.
· Clean, lubricate, align, and maintain equipment to support safe and efficient operations.
· Recommend and request maintenance supplies, products, tools, and equipment needed to complete required work.
· Maintain adequate inventory levels of building supplies, maintenance parts, tools, and safety equipment.
· Keep accurate records of maintenance inventory, spare parts, consumables, and critical components.
· Perform regular inventory checks, complete cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
· Create purchase requisitions or purchase orders for required maintenance parts and consumables.
· Request quotes and review contractor invoices in collaboration with the Production Supervisor to ensure services are completed appropriately.
· Provide recommendations for equipment repairs, replacements, or improvements where safety, efficiency, or property concerns are identified.
· Ensure necessary tools, materials, and resources are available to complete maintenance tasks effectively.
· Assist with special projects and additional maintenance activities as required.
· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
· Diploma, certificate, apprenticeship, or related training in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Industrial Electrician, or a related trade is preferred.
· Minimum of 3 years of industry experience & 2 years of experience working in a maintenance role.
· Fluent written and spoken English language required.
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft 365 (M365), and the ability to understand and follow technical processes.
· Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and machinery.
· Experience working with equipment such as CNC machinery, glass processing equipment, conveyors, pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, and power tools is considered an asset.
· Practical experience working on and repairing machines is required; formal certifications are not mandatory.
· Ability to identify maintenance needs, troubleshoot issues, and complete repairs effectively to support production operations.
· Ability to manage maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment, including assisting with procurement of required materials.
· Ability to support production maintenance activities while also assisting with general plant maintenance needs as required.
· Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
