We are a family farm and grocery delivery service with a growing kitchen producing frozen meals, salads, fruit and veggie trays and more.
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food service. This role is vital in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and assisting with meal preparation. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment and committed to providing excellent service to our guests.
Role will be focussed heavily on fruit and vegetable chopping for meals, fruit and veggie trays and for preserves. Experience making making jams, sauces, salsas etc would be a huge asset
Duties
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling ingredients for various dishes
- Support cooking activities under the supervision of chefs or kitchen managers
- Help with food handling and storage to ensure compliance with safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures diligently
- Support meal preparation for large groups or events as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and basic cooking techniques is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and teamwork orientation
